Overview

ServiceTec are currently seeking applicants for a highly-qualified IT Systems Specialist in Orlando, FL. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems (including multi-user computers such as servers) and seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources and security of the computers/servers he or she manages meet the needs of the users, without exceeding the budget.

Other responsibilities include acquiring, installing, or upgrading computer/server components and software, providing routine automation, maintaining security policies, troubleshooting, training staff and offering technical support for projects.

The IT Systems Specialist will participate as a member of the 24X7X365 NOC team to perform monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution duties assigned to the team and will be part of a rotational shift that changes every 6 to 12 months (depending on operational requirements).


Education

  • University degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
  • A+, Network +, MCSE and/or MCSA Certifications preferred
  • Microsoft and/or VMWare certification is desired.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or ten (10) years related systems administration experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, system and network management tool concepts, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMTP, network related technologies, virtualization technologies which includes configuring and/or managing Hyper V or VMWare, SAN storage, and core room troubleshooting skills. Experience with VOIP telephony equipment, Call Pilot, Nortel CS1000, and Avaya products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server Virtualization; CISCO Routers and switches, Firewalls. Must be at least HP ASI, HP ASE, MCITP or MCTS certified. Preference given to individuals who have experience with networking, including LAN technologies, Ethernet topologies and TCP/IP protocols, Wide Area Networking, Wireless LAN, Wireless Wide Area Networking, Windows operating systems, Windows Server Virtualization, Security Monitoring/configuration, SQL Server, CISCO routers switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Experience reading and navigating building floor plans, office or room area layouts, or other relevant space schematics.
  • This position is considered a working technician position and will require approximately 90% of the technician’s time dedicated to technical duties.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds & walking required.
  • Strong ability to manage difficult and/or stressful work-related issues.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and communication with executives, decision makers, stakeholders, department heads and end-users regarding pertinent network activities
  • Must be able to work shifts in a 24x7x365 support environment. Three shifts, morning, afternoon, and night. Schedule is fully rotational. Shift patterns and/or schedules may be altered to meet the needs of the airport.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT Network & Server Support monitoring and Telecommunications monitoring services of various GOAA systems at the direction of Greater Orlando Aviation Authority as part of the Network Operations Center environment, including Help Desk functions, and as defined in the contracts Statement of Work.
  • Monitor and support over 700+ users in a Microsoft Windows business enterprise environment supporting a mission-critical network including servers, routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Participate, as a member of the 24X7X365 NOC team, to perform monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution duties assigned to the team.
  • Perform hands and eyes services that are tracked via support ticket.
  • Create and/or maintain solid documentation of all network/system procedures for GOAA knowledge base. Update MCO ServiceTec Site Portal as appropriate with relevant documentation, or MCO document storage location.
  • Coordinate activities with the GOAA IT Team and be responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, repairing and maintaining all IT Systems in support of business processing requirements. Perform software installations and upgrades to the systems and layered software packages as directed by GOAA. Assist in installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor the system to ensure optimum performance levels.
  • Promote standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine IT System audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines as directed by GOAA. Maintain a comprehensive IT System configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for updating the IT System portion of the ServiceTec/GOAA knowledge base.
  • Ensure that excellent relations are generated and maintained and particularly that a personal relationship is generated with customer and end user personnel.
  • Report any requests for absence in good time and in line with Company and local Management procedures. At all times, maintain a high work ethic, strictly adhering to onsite start/end shift times.
  • Submit Time Sheets, Expense claims and all other forms correctly completed and within any stated deadlines.
  • Attend Customer meetings as directed by local Management.
  • Ensure that the Team Lead/Site Manager/Direct Report is aware of any unusual events that may have an adverse impact on service delivery or the company reputation. Ensure that escalation procedures are adhered to.
  • May on occasion use your personal vehicle to travel to various airport buildings in support of GOAA equipment. Use of company provided decals/signs on personal vehicle is mandatory. Employee will be able to claim mileage, with direct report approval first, for use of personal vehicle for business purposes by use of the ServiceTec expense procedure.
  • Perform other duties as directed by GOAA or ServiceTec.
